The management of the Czech automaker stated that the serial version new crossover Skoda VisionS, the prototype of which was shown publicly at the recent Geneva Motor Show, is ready. After the tests and the settlement of various paper issues, the model will be shown at the Autumn Paris Motor Show.

Also top managers Skoda said that the new crossover, based on the concept Skoda VisionS, they are going to sell on the Russian car market. Moreover, the model will be assembled locally, at one of the Volkswagen plants that have long been operating in our country.

The prototype of the new Czech crossover, which was officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in early March, is based on the MQB modular platform. It is clear that the serial crossover, created on the basis of the concept, is also built on this platform. It will occupy a niche in the "social" hierarchy of cars, located above Skoda Yeti. In length Skoda VisionS extends to 4 meters 70 centimeters, 1 meter wide 91 centimeters, and in height - 1 meter 68 centimeters. The wheelbase of the new crossover is 2 meters 79 centimeters.

VisionS is driven by a hybrid engine, which consists of a 1.4-liter gasoline aspirated for 156 horses and two electric motors, which together add to the total capacity of the unit another 69 horses. As a result, the hybrid can show a total thrust of 225 horsepower. This unit mates with a DSG robotic transmission. Up to one hundred kilometers per hour, the novelty accelerates in seven seconds.

New crossover, created on the base concept Skoda VisionS, will rise in the SUV segment between the Volkswagen Tiguan and Volkswagen Tuareg. Buyers will have to pay for it about the same as for today's Skoda Superb. From its conceptual version of the serial model will be different both externally and internally by ten percent. In addition, the novelty will be implemented those technologies that are never in Skoda cars have not been applied before.

In addition to the described hybrid, the motor range of the new crossover will include a 1.5-liter, 1.4-liter gasoline aspirated, and two of the same two-liter engines, with 180 and 220 horses. Czechs said that under the hood of the new product will be another pair of two-liter diesel engines, 150 and 184 horsepower.
