Independent adjustment of valves, as well as professional, consists of several stages. After cooling the engine, disconnect the hose from the crankcase and remove the cover from the cylinder head. It is desirable to unscrew the spark plugs.

Using a flat probe, probe the intake valve clearances. If he enters with great effort, loosen the locknut. To reduce the large clearance, tighten the adjustment screw with the wrench. To increase the width of the clearance, unscrew the bolt. In the process, use the probe. If the actions were performed correctly, it will pass tightly between the rod and the screw with little effort. Having achieved such a result, carefully pull out the dipstick. Hold the bolt with the key and tighten the locknut. Similar actions need to be done with the exhaust valve, but the probe should be thicker.
All stages of work should be carried out in a certain sequence.
- First, adjust the device in the first cylinder.
- Then, turning the crankshaft 180 °, we take up the third cylinder.
- Again, turn the crankshaft and adjust the valve of the fourth cylinder.
- Then adjust the valve in the second cylinder.
At the final stage, having verified the integrity of the gasket, replace the cylinder head cover and reconnect the crankcase ventilation tube.
