Self installation of xenon

 Proper xenon gives a very bright light that will help the driver to better see the road in difficult weather conditions at night. Such a system can be installed independently, if this was not done by the manufacturer. Proper installation of xenon does not require special knowledge from the owner, if you follow certain instructions. This article will show how to do this job.

            Principle of operation

 The system consists of:

• the ignition unit (wires attached to the flask);
• the flask is filled with inert gas (Xenon), it contains a pair of electrodes.

The unit delivers a high voltage of about 25 thousand volts. An electric arc is formed between the electrodes, which burns in an inert gas. That's the whole principle of the xenon lamp.

How to install yourself

To work, you need a set of small keys (each car has its own characteristics), an extension cord and a screwdriver puller for clips.

Proper installation of xenon is carried out in a few simple steps:

• unscrew the bolts that fasten the headlight and remove it;
• disconnect all connectors;
• remove the rubber seal from the headlamp, the brackets holding the lamp and the lamp itself;
• install a suitable lamp in the socket and fix it with a bracket (in no case should you touch the xenon lamp with your hands);
• pass the connectors through the gum;
• the unit is mounted in a place where the smallest accumulation of dirt and moisture;
• the headlight is installed in place and is connected to the ignition unit;
• power is connected to the standard connector;
• headlight mount going in reverse order;
• we perform the above operations with the second headlamp.

Advantages of xenon headlights

Technically correct installation of xenon independently due to the advantages that the new lamp gives:

• allows to increase visibility and safety on the road;
• long service life;
• lamp temperature is much lower than normal light;
• low battery power consumption.

Legal installation

 In most cars is allowed to install xenon independently. Domestic cars do not provide for changes to such a plan, but when obtaining permission from the traffic police, such work can only be carried out in specialized services.

 For most cars, such measures are not needed and each owner can carry out such work independently. In such cases, the driver will not receive fines from the road service staff.
