It's only been a week since Hyundai’s managers officially unveiled the new Hyundai Kona subcompact “SUV”. And now the competing auto brand Kia has demonstrated a practically similar model. Both "Korean" one class, similar configurations, which of them would be preferable for the mass buyer, is still unknown. And in general, Russians can only look at the photos, find differences and similarities, and fans of subcompact cross-country sighs at the same time, because none of these cars will appear to our car dealers. The Russians, generally speaking, with all their love for large SUVs, nevertheless, they are very actively interested in the class of these cars. But the niche of subcompact SUVs in the Russian car market is already firmly occupied by Hyundai - the Hyundai Kreta crossover, and by the Kia - Kia Soul. 
The question is whether the two cars are not platform-based until it is covered with a fog of obscurity. Hyundai engineers loudly say that their Kona is based on a completely new "trolley", for which installation is provided, including all-wheel drive.
Kia Stonik the manufacturer claims to be exclusively a front-wheel drive car, it “stands” on the chassis of the new-generation Kia Rio. Salon Stonika very much repeats the interior of the European modification of the "five-door" Kia Rio, he has only slightly changed the shape of the main panel and there are all sorts of bright color inserts.
Motor ruler Let Stonic make two petrol aspirated: 1.2-liter, 84-horsepower and 99-strong 1.4-liter. There is also a supercharged liter “troika”, producing one hundred and twenty horsepower, and also, as the engineers say, a completely new 1.6-liter turbo diesel engine. 
According to the transmissions with which these engines work, the Koreans remain silent, which is also used for suspension, there is also silence. Modifications of the Hyundai Kona, as we have already written, are equipped with rear semi-dependent or independent multi-link suspensions.
