Nevertheless, work is underway, and the engineers of the Russelsheim brand decided to make public information about the engine range and transmissions, which will be equipped with new models of Opel Insignia, it is a question of liftback Opel Insignia Grand Sport and wagon Opel Insignia Sports Tourer.
New Opel Insignia line in the basic configuration, a 1.5-liter gasoline engine will be set in motion, which, with the active participation of the turbine, is capable of delivering one hundred and forty horsepower and torque of 250 Nm, when the tachometer is between 2,000 and 4,100 rpm. A more productive version of the same engine will also be installed, a slightly different firmware allows this unit to demonstrate the power of 165 horsepower. The third gasoline engine in the line of power units new Opel Insignia - This is a two-liter turbo with a figure of 260 horses and 400 Nm at three to four thousand revolutions per minute. This engine is interesting in that it is combined with an all-wheel drive transmission with rear side friction clutches that make it possible to control the thrust vectoring. 
From diesel engines under the hood of the Insignia two units will also be used. The youngest of them, the 1.6-strong, is presented in two versions: one of them has a capacity of 110 horses, the second - 136. The "older" engine has a working volume of two liters, its power characteristics make it possible to demonstrate the combined power of the herd of 170 heads . All of these engines, except for the two-liter gasoline turbo engine, working in tandem with an eight-speed automatic transmission, are completed with a six-speed manual gearbox.
The "freshly baked" Insignias are based on the E2 XX platform, which gave them, compared to their predecessors, an increase in size with a decrease in weight of 175-200 kilograms. The distance between the axles increased from 2 m 73.7 cm to 2 m 82, 9 cm. These few centimeters of the wheelbase gave a significant "volume effect" in the cabin: the inside was very spacious.
