In September 2016, the American auto giant General Motors (more precisely, its Chevrolet division, focused mainly on the foreign market) announced the upcoming premiere of the new generation of the popular Equinox crossover (photo below). The appearance of the car, according to the manufacturer, will become more attractive, the interior will be more comfortable, and the technical equipment, as befits a new product, will be more reliable. Whether Chevrolet succeeded in achieving its goal will be discussed in more detail below.

For now - a few words about the identification of the car. Every vehicle, regardless of whose conveyor it came off and what technical characteristics and appearance features it has, should be attributed to one or another generation within its line, as well as to a certain class: passenger cars, crossovers, SUVs, minibuses and so on. These questions usually have a conditional meaning: for an ordinary motorist, the general aesthetics of the car, its comfort, safety and, of course, price are of greater interest. There are exceptions, when the formal affiliation of a car directly affects the prestige of its owner; but this, of course, does not apply to vehicles of the lower and middle price categories - and to the new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox model (photo below) as well.
In fact, this crossover, despite the attractive, almost representative "appearance" and beautifully decorated interior, does not apply to luxury cars, firmly taking place in the average price niche. The minimum cost of Chevrolet Equinox (photo below) is 1.42 million rubles; the amount, of course, is not comparable with the products of South Korean, Chinese and Russian manufacturers, but, on the other hand, it is not much closer to the proposals of Rolls-Royce or Lamborghini.
