So, several hundred SUVs were equipped on the conveyor with obviously faulty fuel valves. If such a Jeep Wrangler gets into an accident that will cause the SUV to tip over, fuel may leak and, as a result, there will be a fire. Also, a malfunction can lead to debris entering the fuel tank and does not protect it from fuel overflow.

It is known that a component supplier, Kautex Textron, reported a valve malfunction to the manufacturer. An internal investigation showed that Jeep managed to equip 448 of these models with such valves, but by that time 359 of them had found their owners. From the conveyor they left in the period from 1 to 3 November 2016. All of these SUVs will be recalled to check and replace the fuel tank.

In the meantime, the rating of the most economical SUV fuel consumption was published.
