This car was born in the mid-90s, when Subaru decided to keep up with its competitors, and let in its own SUV, adapted for urban conditions. Production of the Subaru Forester model began at the company's plant in Japan in 1996. In Europe, this car debuted in 1997.

In essence, this car is a cross between a spacious station wagon and an SUV. It is equipped with all-wheel drive, a comfortable lounge and a simple but very successful appearance. As a result, the Subaru Forester combined the comfort and handling that are not available for SUVs, while maintaining excellent permeability.

In particular, the engines received new timing chains characterized by reduced friction, variable valve timing, lightweight pistons and connecting rods, a variable-capacity generator and an oil pump. The changes also affected the combustion chambers of the fuel intake and exhaust systems. The result was a significant reduction in the fuel consumption of the Subaru Forester, due to more efficient use.

As on previous models, the Subaru Forester is still equipped with all-wheel drive. The innovation of 2016 is an intelligent torque distribution system, which, in combination with an upgraded suspension system, allows you to confidently go through turns even at high speed.
