Properly arrange your driver's space

  1. Sit straight in the seat and feel the comfort. Relax your lower torso. Raise or lower the seat so you can clearly see the road, the mirrors and the dashboard. Your knees should be level with your hips.
  2. Slide the seat forward or backward so that you can fully press the pedals without pressing into the backrest.
  3. Adjust the angle of the seat back - it should be folded in the vertical position only 10-20 degrees.
  4. Move the headrest so that it is located in the middle of the head: the center of the head restraint should be close to the tops of your ears.
  5. Make sure the headrest is completely locked.
  6. Sit so that the seat cushion evenly supports your legs and does not press on the back of your knees.
  7. Move the steering wheel down towards you so that you can comfortably position your hands on the steering wheel. Wrists should be in the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock position. Adjust the angle so that the airbag in the wheel looks at the chest.
  8. Remove the wallet from the back pocket of the pants, as this causes your body to curl while driving.
  9. Adjust the side mirrors. Adjust the right side mirror so that you can see the right rear corner of the car. Also adjust the left mirror so that you can see the left rear corner.
  10. Do not place anything between you and the seat back, and do not place anything under the seats - objects can easily slide forward and fall under the pedals.

Cleaning and disinfection

If you spill some stinky liquid inside your car or your child has got sick upholstery, take the following measures. First, wipe this place with a paper towel.

Sprinkle baking soda on the desired area and leave it for an hour or more. Soda absorbs any odors. Then you can vacuum.

After that, prepare a liquid cleaner. For leather upholstery, make a solution of three tablespoons of baking soda per tablespoon of water. For a cloth, mix five tablespoons of warm water with one tablespoon of white vinegar. Wipe the area with the resulting mixture and a lint-free cloth. Moisten another rag with warm water and rinse again to remove the cleanser.

Do not use too much water when cleaning the car interior and leave the doors open after cleaning to evaporate moisture.

Look at the bottom of the car door. Some vehicles have small drain holes that allow you to remove excess water. If your car has one, periodically clean it with a pipe cleaner to avoid stale odors and eventually rust.
