The Audi auto concern is going to make a new technological revolution in the mass production of automotive engines. Already developed a highly intriguing car, referred to as TT clubsport turbo. Outside, its body looks like a TT coupe, with a decent-sized rear wing, a non-standard front bumper and chic twenty-inch rims. "Charged" supercar, otherwise you can not say ... Confirms this definition of the filling of the car, represented by a 2.5-liter gasoline turbo engine, which gives the power of six hundred horses with a torque of 650 N ∙ m. Such a colossal power would not have been possible to achieve without the use of turbine supercharging. And the intrigue is that the turbocharger in this engine is electric. (In the usual version, turbines are rotated due to exhaust pressure.) Electron-supercharging, generally speaking, is not innovative technology, since Audi had already used it three years ago. Competitors in the face, for example, Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz, are working in this direction, but these were one-time experiments; yet none of these automakers have even stuttered about mass production. The practical meaning of the use of an electric supercharger is to get the maximum torque and power at low revs, while the engine has not yet been ricocheted.
To power the electric motor, which rotates the turbine, much more powerful equipment is required than the traditional 12-volt vehicle electrical network can provide. For this reason, not one, but two batteries are used. TT clubsport turbo has a suspension on with electronically controlled shock absorbers and all-wheel drive control system. This charged coupe can accelerate to one hundred kilometers per hour in just 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 310 km per hour. On May 13, in less than a week, the European auto-tuning festival Worthersee will take place, and it is expected to officially presented this car.
Audi states that electric turbocharged engines will soon be mass produced. This means that cars with such motors will soon be waiting on our Russian roads.
