The joint US-Russian company Ford Sollers confidently stated that the Naberezhny Chelny auto plant would soon begin producing a compact version of the Ford Fiesta. We already this summer, according to these statements, will see on our roads "Fiesta" in two versions: a hatchback and a sedan. As expected, this car is being created as rival korean and german carsfor which strong demand has developed in Russia. We are talking about Handai Solaris, Kia Rio, Volkswagen Polo and similar sedans. While the management of some brands, in particular General Motors, turns off the production of its cars in our territory due to the economic crisis and a sharp decline in sales, the news from Ford sounds very optimistic. So it’s not all bad.

Today's generation Ford Fiesta was born seven years ago, only one was introduced on our car market, the hatchback model. And she faced fierce competition from cars of a similar class of Russian assembly, as a result, the Fiesta was bought steadily little and not particularly willingly, and two years ago it was decided to close all shipments of this brand to Russia.

By tradition, mini-sedans are made for Eastern countries, but this tradition does not apply to the Fiesta, since its four-door version is perfectly produced and distributed in America itself.

Over the past few years, the Fiesta has changed its appearance. Its new image has become more predatory, the “mouth” of the grille makes it related to Focus and Mondeo with similar stylistics. But, of course, the main thing today will not be considered an external restyling, but a purely practical aspect: Fiesta fully Russian assembly will become much cheaper than the import counterpart. And this already dooms the sales to success, especially if the price tag will compete profitably in this car niche of the Solaris and Volkswagen Polo.

"Fiesta", assembled in Russia, will carry under the hood the heart of Elabuzh production. This is a 1.6-liter engine, which will be executed in three main versions: 85, 105 and 120 horsepower.

Ford believes in the Russian buyer. She has already invested in the Fiesta production project about one hundred and fifty million dollars, and the entire project will cost almost half a billion American money. They will be invested in the Naberezhny Chelny auto plant, which, by the way, has already begun to produce Ford EcoSport crossover.
