Swedish automakers held the last restyling of the Volvo V40 compact hatchback. The updated car will arrive along with other interesting Swedish models and will be officially presented at the showrooms of the Geneva Motor Show in six weeks. As the Volvo developers say, it was the last restyling of the model, this generation only had to “live” a couple of years - and it would be completely replaced another generation V40.

Interestingly, after declaring the model had been upgraded, the developers did not even share the photos of the modified car. This is already in the tradition of many manufacturers: first to intrigue with a minimum of information, and then wash away the uncertainty with an information barrage. Like, it warms up the potential buyer to the degree of purchase. All this is true, but at least the photo of the novelty always accompanied the first information about it. Maybe there is nothing to look at?

Swedes promise to show society photos of the updated V40 exactly a week later. Therefore, traditionally we will guess. Once restyled, it means that the updated model will at least have modified bumpers and a radiator grille. Most likely, the new Swedish corporate standard “Hammer of Thor” will be distributed to the head optics of the novelty, which already correspond to the headlights of the older models. And, probably, something will change in the interior of the cabin.

But about the future of a new generation of car Volvo V40 it is known that it will be built on a modular platform CMA, on the creation of which both the Swedes and the Chinese worked, because, we recall, who does not know, the Volvo concern was bought by a Chinese auto brand Geely six years ago. And on the basis of the current generation of V40 plan to create a crossover Volvo XC40.

It seems that after restyling the classic V40, the Swedes are also modernizing the cross version of it.

At the March Motor Show in Geneva, the Swedes will bring, except restyled v40, S90 sedan and wagon V90. The day after tomorrow, by the way, they will demonstrate the appearance and capabilities of the latter. We will write about this too.
