Today, tuning the car if it does not become a craze, it is rapidly approaching it. One of the common ways to make the car more stylish, individual and recognizable is the application on the body of various drawings and inscriptions. Moreover, since vinyl stickers appeared on a car, it takes very little time and expense, and the result is visible in just a few hours. And, I must say, this result is very impressive if the motorist has a good taste and some knowledge of art. It happens and vice versa. By association with a tattoo: pinned ugliness and walk, scare passersby.

How legal is it to paint a car
From the point of view of traffic police inspectors, this is a fairly harmless change in appearance. There are no complaints that someone was stopped on the way because of the patterns applied to the car. Is that - consider a closer interesting picture. :-))
Apply such a picture with an airbrush only by the artist, and you can make a vinyl sticker yourself
And enough to see what the mass of advertising goes to "their four" in the city. And this is a sin for both private and public transport (it seems that even to a greater extent). But it does not happen that suddenly everything is permitted. Restrictions, of course, are available. However, not at all "draconian", but having common sense. In particular:
The color of the car body specified in the data sheet must be clearly defined, that is, it is not necessary to use solid solid surface fillings that take up half and more of the body.
Figures and their color should not be associated with special transport (for example, police, ambulance).
You can not close the lights - headlights, taillights, reverse alarms, retroreflective devices, the state license plate illumination (and, of course, the sign itself).
It is necessary to use light-accumulating and reflective materials with caution, as the reaction of other road users may be unpredictable and lead to accidents.
Airbrush or vinyl film
That and another way of drawing the picture on the car are quite common. But over the last quarter of a century (about 25 years ago, the Japanese first used vinyl on cars), the film has considerably pressed paints and varnishes. The successful “offensive” of the film is ensured by its physicomechanical properties and a number of significant advantages:
Vinyl film is several times (3-5) cheaper than automotive varnishes and paints.
The market offers a wide range of materials of various colors, shades with excellent quality.
The film protects the elements of the body from the blows of small stones, not allowing to form on the paintwork chips and scratches.
Allows you to hide various defects of the body without costly repairs.
The film can be easily removed at any time. In this case, the surface of the body will not suffer in any way (in the case of paint, the entire part will have to be repainted).
Drawing a picture or an inscription with the help of a film is possible even for a beginner. Airbrushing will require the involvement of a professional, and not every car painter will undertake this work.

Drawing and Vinyl: Flour of Choice
With the current development of technologies, in particular, the Internet and the production of films, choose the picture and the vinyl itself became easy and simple.
How to choose a picture for cars
Modern printing and vinyl on cars allow you to create realistic volumetric images
If vinyl film is used for cars, then the flight of fantasy is truly unlimited. By the way, this is another fat plus film: after all, with the help of airbrushing, only relatively simple drawings can be made. But the technology of drawing the pattern on the film (inkjet, screen, offset printing) allows you to implement any, the most ambitious idea. For example, put a photo of your favorite goldfish on the hood. Or an evil boss at the door to park, each time cling his face to the column. :-))
But seriously, everything is exactly the same: for example, a sticker made by inkjet printing is completely indistinguishable from airbrushing. However, it is necessary to contact the printing house or a company specializing in outdoor advertising. If there is no definite vision of what should be pasted on the car, then refer to the resources of photo stock sites (special photo and picture repositories). There are hundreds of thousands of textures, backgrounds, drawings, photos, etc., most of which are made by professional artists and photographers. Many of the resources are free.
Vinyl film for cars: show off so show off!
You can also apply uncomplicated geometric patterns. And if you have the skills of an artist and possession of a graphic editor, create your own drawing. In this case, he will be the only one in the whole world.
According to statistics, autochairs and car thieves prefer not to get involved in very visible, memorable cars.
How to choose a vinyl film for cars
When choosing a vinyl film for cars should proceed from the goals that you pursue. If you want to protect the car body from burnout and mechanical damage, you can use a transparent vinyl film or pick it up in body color. Pasting exposed every detail of the body, which after several years will still be "as good as new." For these purposes, you can use a film with a matte surface, which additionally creates the original appearance.
There are vinyl films with a particularly strong adhesive layer, which allow you to stick them in several layers. Can be useful when creating a drawing made by the type of children's applications of paper.

When planning to place a picture or an inscription on glass, turn your attention to perforated autovinyl. Such a film consists of small cells-holes and does not impair the view through the glass.
For most materials, manufacturers give a guarantee of two to five years. But there are more expensive - with a lifetime of up to 10 years. It is hardly worth overpaying for durability, because after a couple of years, the sticker will need to be removed. Otherwise, a bright spot forms beneath it compared to the rest of the body, which in several years will burn out and fade.
Perhaps the primacy of the popularity of holding German vinyl film Oracal, which has excellent quality, great range and low cost. About the quality says at least the fact that it is used for pasting mirrors.
Pasting cars: easy
Indeed, car dabbing vinyl with your own hands is a process no more complicated than wallpapering the walls. Before starting work, it is necessary to prepare a dry, clean room and, in fact, the stickers themselves. Sophisticated drawings or photographs must be ordered from the print shop. Simple geometric patterns and inscriptions can be cut out most of the films of desired colors. Cutting performed on a special device - a plotter will be of better quality. This service provides the same printing and take for it is not expensive.
Simple patterns can be cut from the vinyl film with your own hands
The body in the place of sticking of the film must be washed, dried, degreased with alcohol. Now moisten the work surface with clean water (or soap solution in a ratio of 9: 1) using a spray bottle.
Vinyl film is covered with special layers on both sides. On the back side there is a substrate (a layer of moisture-absorbing paper to protect the adhesive from drying). On the front - mounting layer (usually white paper that protects the film from scratches). After removing the substrate, it is necessary to attach the sticker with the center to the car part and with a soft cloth, slowly, with a light pressure, smooth it from the middle to the edges. It is important that no moisture or air bubbles remain under the film! The video at the bottom of the page shows another option for sticking film.
If in the process of gluing folds form, then in such places you can tear off the film from the part, attach and smooth it again. Now you need to roll the entire surface of the film with a rubber roller or spatula (usually attached to each roll of film). It remains only to dry the sticker either in a natural way, or with the help of a hair dryer, making sure that it does not overheat, leading to stretching of the vinyl film. Now you need to remove the mounting layer.
Such a machine will surely attract attention on the road, but it will also tell a lot about the mental abilities of its owner.
The above method of pasting vinyl is called "wet." There is also a “dry” one, in which the body is not moistened. This allows the film to last much longer. But without moistening, gluing occurs instantly and “tightly”: tearing off the sticker and smoothing it out in a new way will not work.
