Authoritative Russian analytical agency Avtostat regularly conducts statistical studies of the modern car market. The last monitoring, conducted at the end of February, showed a sad picture of unfulfilled desires of Russian car owners, who planned to buy a new car exactly in the current year. Those numbered about twenty-seven percent, that is, almost a third of Russian motorists. They postponed the purchase of a new car, as they say, until better times, because the economic reality does not allow making a coveted acquisition today without significant damage to the family budget. would be on a used car.
It was the events of the last two or three months that radically changed the picture of the world for the Russian car enthusiast. The study involved just over ten thousand people. Thirty-nine percent of surveyed car owners are confident that modern prices for cars are significantly inflated by dealers, and it is these speculative prices that prevent them from making a long-awaited purchase. Thirty-six percent of respondents blame their inability to overcome price barrier for cars difficult economic situation, they say the crisis does not allow to spend a serious amount, because there is no confidence in the future and it is dangerous to step into the future with a purse devastated on a new car. Eleven percent could buy a car on credit, but excessively high car loan rates forced to leave the banks back home. Four percent of those surveyed were laid off over the past three months, and another ten percent faced various financial difficulties. Half of the respondents generally felt a significant deterioration in their financial situation from November last to February of the current year.
All these data obtained as a result of the research allowed Avtostat to conclude that in Russia today, in general, the attitude towards the acquisition of a new vehicle is changing. If earlier people blindly took car loans, today they are beginning to seriously consider all possible risks. Another third of Russian car enthusiasts are ready at all. abandon the idea of buying a new car, if in the near future the economic situation does not improve, and even more so, it worsens.
