The company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) announced the withdrawal of more than 570 thousand cars due to a defect in electrical wiring, as well as a possible leakage of power steering fluid, which could lead to a fire. The problems mainly concern SUVs Jeep and Dodge.

According to the FCA, approximately 477,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango 2011–2012 SUVs may be fire hazardous due to overheating electrical wiring. The manufacturer said that we are talking about 353 thousand cars sold in the United States, 26.5 thousand cars in Canada, 13 thousand - in Mexico and 84.3 thousand - in other countries of the world.

As part of the second service campaign, 93.3 thousand cars of the 2015 Jeep Compass and Patriot model year were recalled, which could cause a fire due to leakage of power steering system fluid. In this case, the US market accounted for 60.1 thousand cars, 5.8 thousand cars sold in Canada, 3.4 thousand cars in Mexico and 24 thousand cars outside of North America.

The manufacturer also clarified that at the moment there are no incidents related to these defects. Faults will be fixed for free.

At the end of October, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalled 894,000 Jeep, Dodge and Fiat SUVs due to problems with the anti-lock system and airbags. In addition, in early December, the US authorities fined FCA $ 70 million for hiding part of the information about deaths and injuries resulting from a car accident.
