It became known that the automaker Fiat decided to withdraw in the US model Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango 2016 model year only with a V-shaped “six” and a working volume of 3.6 liters. The reason for this was the problem with the fuel system.
It is reported that almost 35,000 Fiat vehicles will be recalled due to the risk of fuel leakage. A total of 30,100 vehicles will be recalled in the States, from Canada - 2.5 thousand units and 489 copies from Mexico. Employees of the manufacturer believe that the problem is only in 30 cars produced on the assembly line in Mexico, but the management decided to check all the implemented models of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango.
It is known that the problem manifests itself with a large run, but in the end can lead to ignition of the power unit, which is dangerous for human life. Fiat said that the reason for the leakage of fuel is improper assembly, an error which occurred in the first quarter of this year. Now, none of the clients complained about the problem.
In the meantime, the rating of the most economical SUV fuel consumption was published.
