Alliance Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) announced its intention to spend more than one billion dollars to modernize Jeep plants. It is also planned to create a thousand additional jobs at these enterprises.

It is known that $ 350 million from this amount will be sent by the FCA to the plant in Belvidire, Illinois, where Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot SUVs are going to, as well as Dodge Dart sedan. Compass and Patriot will complete in September of this year, and Dodge Dart will stop collecting in December. After that, the plant will move the assembly Jeep Cherokee, which is now produced in Toledo (Ohio).

The company will spend $ 700 million to modernize the plant in Toledo. Now it collect Wrangler SUV. Next year, this enterprise will begin the production of this new generation of model.
