In today's article we will try to consider in detail how to replace the boot of the inner CV joint as correctly as possible on most modern vehicles. Hinges are widespread on all front-wheel drive vehicles. It should be noted that some types of SUVs are also equipped with such elements.

Although CV joints have a lot of advantages, they have one serious drawback - high sensitivity to pollution. To maximize the protection of mechanisms against external particles, anthers were created.

What are the appearance and main types of hinges of equal angular velocity exist?
In the automotive market today you can find 3 main types of CV joints:
- cardan couples (installed on all the first American cars and today are very obsolete);
- cam (at the moment they are successfully used on trucks);
- ballpoint (they are very widely used in most cars; besides, there is no worthy replacement for them yet).
What is the main function of the car boot?
If you are wondering how to replace the boot of the inner CV joint? You need to properly understand the whole mechanism. The importance of replacing the anther is that it forces the two front wheels to power. Thanks to its use in the car, the wheels rotate, following the movements of the steering wheel. The main elements that serve as the basis for the hinge are durable alloys of various types. The main purpose of such alloys is to withstand the entire maximum load of the machine. To successfully hold the load intended for it, it is necessary that the hinge is always clean, and there is no foreign debris inside it.

Carrying out a careful viewing and finding out the reasons for the failure
The reason for the breakdown of the spare part is quite obvious - a lot of water and dust left inside. Therefore, if the driver does not conduct a periodic inspection of the unit and does not lubricate the component elements with oil, the replacement of the entire CV joints will cost a considerable amount of money. Checking for damage, is carried out by inspecting the parts for integrity. If you do not bring some parts of the car to such a state, it will be quite enough in time to replace only its boot. In such cases, the "grenade" of the car will be able to earn as in former times.

Before you change the boot CV joints, consult with an experienced specialist. Replacing old parts with new ones is no big deal. It is best to replace gradually. When there is a need to change two anthers at once, it is better to do the replacement at the same time, removing the shaft completely. Simultaneous installation of parts in the future will not lead to their uneven wear.
Installed new boot
If the internal boot of the CV joint is removed first, removing the outer one is much easier.
In order to conduct a high-quality replacement of the CV joints, it is necessary:
- Securely immobilize the car, engage first gear, raise the handbrake up.
- On both rear wheels it is necessary to put wooden recoils that completely eliminate the risk of vehicle haulage.
- Put a jack under the car and slowly lift it (without sudden movements, so as not to accidentally lead to a rollover).
- Remove the axle shaft with the damaged parts, then clamps.
- To carry out accurate removal from a glass of a boot.
- Pull out the special retaining ring from the glass.
- From the glass to get the holder of CV joints, when the ring of the half-line opens, take out the holder with balls.
- Remove all the balls from the clip, as they need to be well washed from the old grease.
- Apply new grease to peeled balls. For 2 CV joints, you will need approximately two hundred and fifty milliliters of lubricant.
- Put on new anthers, fill them with lubricant.
- Install the clip with retaining ring at its original location.
- Fill the glass with previously prepared substance and insert into it the CV joints.
- To put on a completely new part (duster), do not forget to clamp the clamps well.
